Rene Stiegler - K4EDX - SK (February 5, 2018)

Tuesday, February 5, 2018

Hello All,

This is an email I thought I would never have to send out. I am so saddened as well as shocked by this news.

It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart to learn of the passing of Rene Stiegler, K4EDX. Rene passed away Monday, February 5, 2018. I'm not sure of the details, I will pass them along as I find out.

Rene was Net Manager for MMSN for well over 25 years. He was recognized by the United States Coast Guard for his work during Hurricane Katrina.

When I have more details, I will pass them along to you. For now, please keep the family and friends of Rene in your thoughts and prayers.

Rene was a good friend who was so committed to this network as our manager. He is going to be sorely missed for sure.

I am terribly saddened to hear of Rene’s passing. I learned this morning from his son Ray and then passed the news to Jeff, KB4JKL.

I had the pleasure of knowing Rene for nearly 20 years. He was a great manager to work with. He was very fair with people and extremely patient. Rene and his wife had just bought and moved into a nice home on Mobile Bay just before Christmas. It was to be there home to retire and relax.

Rene had many friends in amateur radio as well as the corporate world and will be sorely missed. To all his family and friends, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

With deepest sympathy,
Bobby Graves KB5HAV
