Mr. Henderson was born November 7, 1929, in Randolph County, Alabama, to James T and Mattie Lou Henderson. He attended the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind in Talladega from which he graduated in 1949. He lived in Florida until moving to Dothan in 1965. He was a piano technician for about 50 years until his retirement. He was an avid amateur radio enthusiast and enjoyed his friendship with "ham operators" around the world. He never missed an opportunity to go fishing with his friends. He was a past president of the Wiregrass Lions Club working with sight preservation and a member of Heritage Baptist Church.

Listen to Rex KC5AGO salute Fletcher by clicking here.  Although Rex says "...February 2, 2010", this was the opening hour of the MMSN on February 1, 2010.  A very fitting salute to a very dear friend and long time controller to the net.  He will surely be missed by all.
